“All the world is birthday cake, so take a piece, but not too much.”
– George Harrison

Today, Tuesday, at 7 in the morning, this is what greeted me in the office:

A poster of the man himself, George Harrison, the quiet Beatle, my musical hero, drawn by Mario Serrano, my co-Creative Director in the office.

Detail

Looking closely at the details of the illustration, one would be amazed at the craftmanship involved. This is not merely a solid rendering of black ink on Kraft paper but a meticulously drawn series of circles in different sizes and intensity.

Now, to find the right frame for this.

Here’s my son when he was still in his teens. He had this tentative smile which I think was a result of me bothering him while he was playing with his PlayStation.

20359_319762749128_8078721_nShe is my niece who lives in the States. I got the original photo from her mom, my sister, who sent it via email. What caught my eyes was the look in her eyes. I just had to draw her.

He is a friend of mine, a film director who, by the look on his face, has seen it all. I just had to capture the intensity written all over. The flowing hair with its black and white strands are simply outstanding.

She is a good friend whom I met online. She lives in Arkansas. She has this wonderful glow and it’s saying “life is good”.

And it is an awesome experience.

Thanks to having watched too many Gordon Ramsey videos, and Masterchef series.

I think I’m going to “master” Italian cuisine.

Here he is today, all grown up and already working.

And this is my first ever blog entry after all these years of putting it off.
I’ve had and still have Multiply, Flickr, Facebook, JPG, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. but never a blog until now.
I never thought I would be capable of writing anything of interest except when writing for advertising  which usually runs for 30 seconds tops.

Nevertheless, there’s always a first time.

So maybe, it’s only apt that I quote one of my favorite people in the world about birthdays as this could also be some sort of “birthday” of my blog. Hello, George Harrison!

And hello, photos! I will also be uploading and talking about things, places, people and events that interest me a lot and share them here.

Like this, for example:

Biking!
Something I try to do every weekend (realistically, every 3 weeks) with my biker mates, the Adobong Baboy Riders.

Now, time for some merienda.
